What I’m listening to: Here Comes the Light, Joel Jacob
Before I can get rolling on all the pumpkin recipes this season (I have a couple exciting ones on standby already!), you’ll want to be prepared. You’re going to need a nice big batch of homemade pumpkin pie spice. Oh the pumpkin fun you and I and this pumpkin pie spice are going to have together over the next couple of months.
Why make it at home? Because it’s less expensive (if you have all the ingredients already on-hand), super easy, fresh, and completely customizable. Love ginger in your pumpkin desserts? Great, amp it up. Something you don’t like? Cut back. It’s also easy to scale up or down depending on how much spice you plan to use. Use my [extremely yummy] formula or tweak it to make it your own. Plus it’s so handy to have a batch on hand, ready to go, for every recipe you make this fall. It saves time and spice-hunting frustration. And, it tastes amazing – warm and comforting, like fall in a jar. In addition to recipes, sprinkle a little on top of your coffee in the morning or make some spiced cider or pumpkin spice cinnamon toast or…. fill-in-the-blank with your favorite fall treat.
Let the pumpkin fun begin!
